The Chattanooga Hamilton County Rescue Service Cave/Cliff/Technical Unit is presenting an Awareness Level Cave Rescue program. This 2-day program consists of classroom (4 hours) and fieldwork (12 hours) The participant will receive experience in the underground environment, litter movement techniques, communication systems, medical management, and an overview of managing a cave rescue.
At the conclusion, the participant will understand litter movement and management, and the many challenges associated with cave rescue. The basic orientation course material is presented for students who typically include cavers, emergency services personnel, and Emergency Managers.
Most of this class will be conducted underground in a cave. There is a very short amount of classroom presentations. The participant must be willing and capable of moving and working underground.
Email Tiffany Key, or call her at 931-294-4305 for lodging accommodations as needed. Normal TFACA lodging fees will apply and must be covered by the individual student.
